Final Project - ScrapbookI made this scrapbook for my final project because I wanted to make something to give to my best friend at the end of the year, This scrapbook is us from the time we became friends to now, I started off by making the scrapbook the same way we make sketchbooks and used a bandana as my cover, I used 5 signatures on the inside and I used two cardboard squares to make the cover and back of the book, on the inside I put either one picture or multiple on each page and wrote out something about that day or just a memory. I also used pom poms and stickers and construction paper to decorate the pages on the inside. Overall I'm glad that I got to do this and it was a very fun experience and I can't wait to give it to Addy.
Think Outside the BoxThis think outside the box project was where we took a small magazine square and put it on a piece of paper and tried to make an image without using what the image in the magazine was. I took my magazine square, which was originally a human doing a headstand on the beach and I took his legs and put chicken feet on him and above him put his body as a an egg, around the egg I put a lot of little baby eggs with chicken feet and then a stack of unborn eggs on the side. The hardest part for me would have to be the color matching on the background, because the darker I had to go on the color the harder I pressed and it started creating streaks and also the space between the stack of eggs I didn't mean to have that big of gaps in them. But overall this project was fun and let me be creative even if it didn't turn out the way I wanted.
Dream HomeFor our project dream home we had to use 1, 2, and 3 point perspective to make our houses. We started this project doing floor plans so when we started the project we would know where the windows and doors were placed. This project was probably my favorite because I want to be an interior designer and realtor when I get out of high school and these may be steps that I need when I go to do that. I used two point perspective on my house and you can see the front and the side with the garage. The roof was probably the most tedious part and I did mess up a few times in the lines. The color of the house is supposed to be off white but the coloring I used turned out yellow.
Abstract ArtFor my Abstract art project I followed a series of steps and a variety of different mediums and colors to make my Abstract.
This was only a week long project and I feel like it was a very simple but yet very knowledgeable project, you use different mediums and colors to make one art piece and it helps you to try out mediums that you don't usually use or colors you don't really use. This project also makes you step out of the box a ton while creating, most people like organized, but this is more considered organized chaos. On one side I used colored pencil and crayons, and on the other side I used markers, I think it creates differentiation throughout the piece while the colors provide a sense of unity. The one thing I found most difficult about this project would have to be letting myself out of my comfort zone of it all does not have to look the same or always match up perfectly, the black line randomly on the paper anywhere taught me that. I enjoyed this project and how it let me be more comfortable with using different mediums and techniques and I will definitely be trying to do another abstract to improve on my skills. i do think for me this is a very good first try. AlebrijesFor my Alebrijes project I decided to go with four animals combined with clay. The body of the animal was a Teddy Bear, the ears were Monkey ears, it has an Elephant trunk and Dinosaur spikes on his back.
This project took me a while to complete, I had lots of struggles with the body for sure because I couldn't get the size the way I wanted it, then the legs were also a pretty big struggle for me just because one of the legs I got without even trying and then the second leg the coil kept becoming hollow and cracking. The Elephant trunk I got on the first try of making it which made me very happy because I thought that was going to be the hardest part to keep up but, I made it light enough to where it stayed up the whole time. I enjoyed this project because it was so cool to see my project come to life from a ball of clay to what I ended up with, I chose the colors blue, purple, and pink to paint my Alebrije just because I love those colors and to me those colors work well together and I did a polka dot pattern on the legs and arms with opposite colors. Altogether I had a lot of fun with this project and I'm so happy with the way it turned out and I am glad that I have some experience with clay now! Construction Paper Mosaic - Final ProjectFor my final project in Art I, I decided to do a construction paper mosaic. This may not seem very difficult but in some ways it was challenging, All of the little tiny pieces of paper made this hard trying to figure out which places to put them in that made the most sense and also just trying to fit them in certain spots, it was very time consuming considering and precise. For the background I used value with the different shades of black and used a layering type of mosaic technique, I made the layers in the background curvy to add more depth to the background.
I really enjoyed this project and am very happy with the way it turned out. It did take a while but it was all worth it in the end. I started off doing this project because another classmate of mine was doing one and it really inspired me, it looked so fun and I had never done it before. When I started looking up ideas for this project I saw a real mosaic (not paper) that really set my mind into the idea that I wanted to do the mosaic, I made up my own ideas from this image but I really just loved the way that it looked and how they had made it. My reference image is the last image in the slideshow. Self PortraitThe pictures in these slides are from my self-portrait project, we spent a couple weeks on this after learning how to properly draw a face and all the details on it. This project was difficult for me because I was having a hard time really making it look like me and mastering the details. Overall this project was very tedious and took a lot of time but it was really fun.
Close Up Value DrawingThe first slide shows the image I've decided to use for this project, I think it's so cute and I thought this was gonna be easy, it in fact was not easy. It took a lot of patience and a lot of time. The little hairs all over the bunny made it very difficult and those were very precise. The grass was kind of like the hairs very precise and difficult.
SketchbookThis is my sketchbook, we started by painting the end page then we took a piece of fabric and glued it onto the boards that are used for the cover of the book, then we glued the painting we made onto the inside of the book. After that we started making our signatures by folding paper taking a pin and poking it through the paper at the points 1', 3', 5 1/2', and 7 1/2' then sewing the signatures into the spine and tying the thread into knots to make them stay.
Overall I really enjoyed this project and am very happy with the way it turned out, it was difficult at some points but I got it figured out and I'm really loving this sketchbook and I'm glad that I finally can sew a little. |
